About me... I grew up in Vermillion and graduated from Vermillion High School- being an active member of band, jazz band (playing euphonium and a little trombone), choir and show choir. I was a late bloomer in piano but started taking private voice lessons early in high school. I continued to be active and band and choir throughout college, graduating from USD with a double major in Music Education and Vocal Performance- studying voice with Frank Aiello and choral conducting with Larry Torkelson. I met my husband, Anthony, when I needed a piano accompanist for a vocal competition. My husband and I have been of the music team for the United Church of Christ, leading the children's choirs and adult choirs. I currently serve as Sioux Valley Chapter president for the American Orff Schulwerk Association, organizing music workshops for music teachers in the region. I am also a member of the American Choral Director's Association and Music Educators National Conference. We have a 6th grader, Abby, a 3rd grader, Ben, a Kindergartner, Sarah, and a black lab, Molly. In our free time we enjoy camping, supporting Vermillion performers and athletes, watching Nebraska football and filling our summers with rehearsals for the Vermillion Community Theatre musicals.
