Vermillion High School Thespians Selected to Perform in Scotland

The Vermillion High School (VHS) Theater department under the direction of Mary Begley has been selected to perform at the 2019 Edinburgh Scotland Fringe Festival. Each August, Edinburgh hosts the largest theatre arts festival in the world, and Vermillion High Thespians will be showcasing their talents on the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) stage.

The VHS drama program was selected by the AHSTF Board of Advisors, made up of college theatre professionals. The Board reviews and identifies the top high schools based on their most recent bodies of work, awards, community involvement, philosophies, and recommendations.

The Vermillion Drama Booster organization along with students, parents, and teachers are working to raise money to help finance the two-week adventure. Tax deductible donations are welcome and can be sent to the Vermillion Public School Foundation office at 17 Prospect Street. Make checks out to VPSF Drama account.

This group of talented students can be seen in action on the VHS stage May 4th, 5th, & 6th in their production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical Cinderella. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets will be available at the door.
